Greenwich Hills Condominium and Greenwich Hills Tax District
The monthly association fee is a common charge. The monthly tax district fee is considered a tax. This is how Greenwich Hills units are noted at Town Hall. The Association fee (common charge) covers all operating expenses, including capital improvement projects, etc. The tax district payment also covers operating expenses but mainly those involving utilities (gas, water, electric), garbage/recycling pickup, etc. and it is tax deductible. The two monthly charges (common charges) and (tax district) make up the total payment for the unit.
The tax district fee is not a special tax or an assessment.
Payments to the tax district are deductible on an owner’s personal tax return under real estate tax on their schedule A.
